God=doG is the collective around Belpop icon Rudolf Hecke and consists out of Nikkie van Lierop (Erotic Dissidents, Praga Khan), Toon Derison (Steven De Bruyn, El Fish), Klaas Tomme (Iskander Moon, Illuminae) and Yassin Joris (Jokke,Naima Joris). Rudolf Hecke's LP “God is dog spelled backwards” was voted best Belgian album of the year by De Morgen in 1989. Humo crowned him “The Nick Cave of Flanders”.

36 years and many musical adventures later he is back with an strong, dark and atmospheric album comparable to the works of f.i. This Mortal Coil: different styles of songs sung by different bandmembers. The album is produced by Hecke, David Poltrock and Ian Caple. Additional lead vocal by Elsje Helewaut.

Rudolf has also proven to be a gifted author and speaker. On 26 October 2024, he published his ninth book ‘How Rough is the Stone?’ in which he immerses himself in the Freemasonry. The journey to that book was accompanied by the recording of new God=doG songs. A mutual influence, symbolism, questioning, insights, reflection emerged.Thus in the fascinating live shows, story telling is never far away…
