The Kids - Flabbergasted - Live At AB 2001

De Belgische punk band The Kids opgericht door Ludo Mariman debuteerde in 1978 met hun ijzersterk titelloos album, dat zondermeer een plaatst verdient in de wereldwijde lijst van de strafste albums van seventies punk bands. Na nog 4 studio albums hield de groep er midden Jaren ’80 mee op om goed 10 jaar later de draad toch weer op te nemen. Sindsdien zijn The Kids een veel gevraagde en geliefde groep in binnen en buitenland, daarbij voornamelijk focussend op het punky material van de twee eerste albums dat moeiteloos de tands des tijds heeft doorstaan.

Nog altijd de kwaadste groep van land en dat zegt veel over de scherpte en gretigheid waarmee Mariman en co er live nog steeds invliegen. The Kids blijft hoe dan ook nu nog zonder meer een absolute top band!

Het album “Flabbergasted” werd begin 2001 opgenomen in de AB Club in Brussel en het jaar nadien uitsluitend op CD uitgebracht om vervolgens zeer snel uit te verkopen.  Nu voor de eerste maal op vinyl met opgepoetste sound én volledig nieuw artwork. Een niet te missen album, scherp als een scheermes waarop in een rotvaart vele Kids klassiekers en enkele punk covers de revue passeren.

De afgelopen jaren bleef de band wereldwijd touren. Het klassieke live album “Flabbergasted” was al lang uitverkocht maar is nu terug verkrijgbaar in een gelimiteerde oplage op Silver/Black vinyl!

The Belgian punk band The Kids founded by Ludo Mariman made their debut in 1978 with their landmark titleless album, for sure deserving to be part of the global top list of great seventies punk albums. After another 4 studio album the band called it a day.. to resurface good ten years later at the end of the 1990’s . Since then The Kids became an international cult punk band much in demand in Belgium and abroad (USA, Germany, France, Italy, Japan…) mainly focussing on their initial seventies punk repertoire, with many classic songs which survived effortless the ravages of time.

The Kids are still the most angry Belgian band which says a lot about the eagerness and sharpness of Ludo Mariman and his mates. The Kids for sure still are an absolute top band!

The “Flabbergasted” was recorded early 2001 at the AB Club in Brussels and released the year after on CD wich sold out quickly. Now for the very first time available on vinyl with restored audio and entirely new artwork. An album you can’t miss, sharp as a razorblade and containing many of The Kids classics and a couple of contemporary punk covers.

In recent years, the band has continued to tour worldwide. The classic live album “Flabbergasted” was long sold out but is now available again in a limited edition on Silver/Black vinyl!

Le groupe punk Belge, The Kids, créé par Ludo Mariman, fit ses débuts en 1978 avec un album sans titre remarquable, qui mérite incontestablement une place dans la liste mondiale des albums les plus épatants des groupes punk des années septante. Quatre albums enregistrés en studio plus tard, le groupe cessa d’exister vers la moitié des années ’80, pour reprendre le fil 10 ans plus tard. Depuis lors, The Kids est un groupe populaire et très recherché en Belgique et à l’étranger, se concentrant essentiellement sur le matériel punky des deux premiers albums qui a facilement résisté à l’usure du temps.

The Kids demeure le groupe le plus en colère du pays, ce qui en dit long sur l’acuité et l’avidité avec lesquelles Mariman et Co se produisent en live. Quoi qu’il en soit, The Kids reste un groupe de première classe encore aujourd’hui!

L’album “Flabbergasted” a été enregistré début 2001 au Club AB à Bruxelles et est sorti l’année suivante, exclusivement sur CD pour être ensuite très vite épuisé. A présent, pour la première fois sur vinyle avec un son peaufiné et une maquette flambant neuve.

Un album à ne pas manquer, tranchant comme une lame de rasoir, sur lequel toutes les chansons classiques des Kids, ainsi que plusieurs reprises punk passent la revue à une vitesse époustouflante.

Ces dernières années, le groupe a continué à tourner dans le monde entier. L'album live classique "Flabbergasted" a longtemps été épuisé mais est à nouveau disponible en édition limitée sur vinyle Silver/Black !
